What women can do to protect their vision.

If you’re a female 55 and older, then you may in danger of developing age-related macular degeneration (ARMD), the leading cause of blindness.
In a recent study, a total of 235 cases of ARMD, which is typically characterized by pigment changes in a protective part of the eye called the macula, were confirmed during an average of 10 years of follow-up. Women who ate the most omega-3 fatty acid-rich fish had between 62% and 66% less risk of developing ARMD than a group of women eating less fish. In short, women who consumed one or more servings of fish per week, compared with those who consumed less than one serving per month, had a relative reduced risk of AMD of 58%.
